OJ Simpson, real name Orenthal James Simpson has died at the age of 76 following his battle with cancer. The news was posted to his social media accounts where his family confirmed the news and released a statement.
The statement reads, “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

He had been battling prostate cancer, but had also just revealed back in February of his diagnosis and had denied reports of being in hospice. Over the past few months his health had made a turn for the worst and led him to be in hospice.
Simpson is infamously known for his case involving Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman’s death in 1994 where he was acquitted in the case and not guilty.
