It looks like Shakira’s tax evasion case with Spain has came to an end as the singer has came to a settlement. The singer will be avoiding 8 years of prison time and has agreed on a 3-year suspended sentence along with paying off a $7 Million Euro fine.
She also is set to pay an additional fine of $472,000. She has released a statement regarding the situation where she spoke of “moving on.”
“I need to move past the stress and emotional toll of the last several years and focus on the things I love – my kids and all the opportunities to come in my career, including my upcoming world tour and my new album, both of which I am extremely excited about. I admire tremendously those who have fought these injustices to the end, but for me, today, winning is getting my time back for my kids and my career,” her statement concluded.
According to Fox News, there is another separate charge that had been filed back in September regarding her 2018 income where she had allegedly did not pay her tax fines of 6.7 million Euros to the Spanish government.Â
