The late legendary basketball star, Kobe Bryant will be receiving an honorary statue at his home stadium, which was previously called, the Staples center. The news was announced by his wife, Vanessa Bryant who took to Instagram in a video to share the news.
“As you know, Kobe played his entire 20-year NBA career as a Los Angeles Laker. Since arriving in the city and joining the Lakers organization, he felt at home here playing in the City of Angels,” she says of the team.
“On behalf of the Lakers, my daughters and me, I am so honored that right in the center of Los Angeles, in front of the place known as ‘The House That Kobe Built,’ we are going to unveil a statue so that his legacy can be celebrated forever.” she revealed.

The statue will be happening in 2024 on February 4th, which is a symbol and nod to both Kobe and Gigi as Kobe wore the jersey numbers 8 and 24, and Gigi wore number 2.
