Tristan Thompson has found himself in some trouble with the NBA after he had tested positive for enhancement drugs found in his system such as ibutamoren a growth hormone, and SARM LGD-4033 which is used by bodybuilders for muscle enhancement.
Thompson is currently suspended for 25 games allowing for him to travel with the team and practice. It is unclear of when he will return along with of how long he had been using the enhancement supplements.
His suspension begins Wednesday and may be able to return in March. The Cavaliers have released a statement in regards to the newfound information.
“The Cleveland Cavaliers fully support the NBA/NBAPA Anti-Drug Program and we are disappointed in the recent news surrounding Tristan Thompson. His time away from game action will have an impact on our team. We stand behind Tristan and offer our support throughout this suspension period.”
