‘Power Book II: Ghost’ To End After Season 4

It looks like Starz show Power Book II: Ghost is coming to an end after four seasons. It has been announced as Starz CEO Jeffrey Hirsch made the decision to contain the cost of the content by saying:

“You look at the map and say, ‘OK, if I take one of those characters out and spin one of those out, I can bring that on to replace the Power show at half the cost.’ Now I’m putting a lot of money right to the bottom line. And I’m really not losing anything in terms of acquisition costs and subscriber viewership, because we know what those demos want. And we know how to line those up. And so that’s really the core of getting to that 20%— turning that slate over with fresh content to drive the business,” Hirsch said.

As of now, Power Book II: Ghost will air June 7th for the first half and September 6th for the second half. The show’s lead, Michael Rainey Jr. who plays as Tariq St. Patrick revealed that he was blindsided by the announcement and found out when everyone else did.

“I ain’t know s–t I found out the same time as y’all,” he revealed on Instagram live. “Don’t trip y’all a lot of new s–t coming, me and Gianni [Paolo] writing and a lot in motion. That’s not the only time you gone see me and Gianni, we got our own stuff in the making. They do tell us but sometimes they just wanna do s–t their way, that’s just what it is, the higher ups.”
