It looks like fans can expect Childish Gambino music soon as Donald Glover has revealed that he will be putting out a new album, even with retirement nearing. Speaking with TMZ, the rapper/ actor says that fans can expect a CG album in 2024 “soon.”
The last project that Glover released was his project 3.15.20 that featured artist such as Ariana Grande, 21 Savage, Ink and Kadhja Bonet. He had also helped piece together the soundtrack for series, Swarm that he had also created.
Speaking with Complex back in October 2023, Glover shared his decision to return to music.
“It’d be better for people to just tune in, I suppose. But I’m trying harder to not be cryptic. Tyler is always, like, ‘You’re so cryptic.’ But I’m like, ‘I’m really not.’ I just like suspense, I guess. I think it makes stuff better. But that’s just me.”
He continued,”You know, I don’t do this s–t for money and s–t.” he explained. He explained further of a Cam’rom clip that he and his brother loves on the basis of not doing music for money, but simply because he’s nice.
” I’m like, yeah, I do this because I’m nice. I don’t think I’d ever stop, because of like… I always liked it because I liked it. I never did it because it was like, man, this is a good way to get put on or something. I like the feeling of it. I do this because I’m nice. In a certain way, I think that makes me old school.”
