Rudolph Isley, part of the Isley Brothers group, has just passed away at age 84. TMZ confirmed the news of his death, but no details have been disclosed regarding the cause.
His brother Ronald Isley has released a statement regarding his death where he said:
“There are no words to express my feelings and the love I have for my brother. Our family will miss him. But I know he’s in a better place.”
The group’s beginnings started in 1954 with Isley brothers Rudolph, Marvin, O’Kelly, Ronald, Vernon and Ernie Isley all formed a group, but later disbanding in 1955 after Vernon’s death at 13-years-old. Later the other brothers regrouped in 1959 where they began to sing once again and made hits in 1973 such as “It’s Your Thing,” “Twist and Shout,” “That Lady,” and “Fight The Power.”
They also have their infamous song, “Contagious” that rose in the charts in 2001 and also had been inducted into the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992Â .
