It has been reported that actor Richard Rountree, who is famously known for his role of the 1971 Shaft has died at the age of 81. He had been battling with pancreatic cancer and died in his Los Angeles home on Tuesday.
His acting career extends for over 50 years as he has also starred in the Shaft sequel films, appeared in miniseries Roots, along with the Netflix original tv show, Family Reunion. His manager Patrick McMinn and agency Artists & Representatives has released a statement regarding his passing, saying:
“Artists & Representatives Agency mourns the loss of our friend and client Richard Roundtree. His trailblazing career changed the face of entertainment around the globe and his enduring legacy will be felt for generations to come. Our hearts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
