“I been around Hip Hop since day 1, out of this generation’s rappers @lilbaby4PF is the most influential and important at this time. He like PAC’s influence can help turn around young black men to elevate their lives from the streets to a better life. He’s special trust me I know.”
He continues, “.. he’s really from and wit the s—s and talks that street talk, but he also raps about positive elevation and change, (like Pac), he never beefs online, helps his people and raps about it and you can see his maturity, not just on the mic but in real life, he’s this generation’s Pac.”
Many had mixed emotions about the statement and others agreed due to Lil Baby’s track record of having number one albums, diamond-certified singles and the heavy influence and philanthropy work he has done over the years.
Drake has been set to appear at The Apollo theater back in November of this year, but due to understanding circumstances such as close friend Take Off’s passing has pushed the original date back. The dates were pushed back December, but now has been pushed back again.
According to a statement sent to Complex, Drake will now be set to perform on January 21 and January 22 as he says it’s due to production delays.
“These upcoming shows for SiriusXM are so incredibly special for us. If you are going to play the world famous Apollo Theater, it has to be a world class production. We as a team have been working around the clock not just putting together a concert but an experience our fans deserve. With that said, we are up against some production delays that are just out of our control.” Drake, SiriusXM and Sound 42 stated.
The decision was made when all parties decided on not going on with the shows due to not resolving the production issues. “After many difficult meetings and conversations, the shows will now take place on January 21st and 22nd. The Apollo has been so incredibly gracious throughout this process and we look forward to bringing a legendary show to this legendary stage.”
