Usher is currently coming down from delivering a piping-hot performance from this year’s Super Bowl and is now speaking on the behind the scenes and of who he reached out to. Speaking with The Breakfast Club, the superstar was asked why Justin Bieber hadn’t shown up to perform alongside him, as he answered and said:
“They did work out with Justin, I honor and recognize the fact that my brother … I think it might have just been that he’s just wanting to tell a different story right now, and I did understand that. We did have a brief conversation, and we’re gonna do something else in the future,” he shared.
He continued, “No love lost or anything like that. It’s a lot of pressure for the Super Bowl, obviously, for me to put together a show. I reached out to everybody. Justin wasn’t the only person I spoke to about doing the Super Bowl, but the moment was maybe for later.”
He also shares that even though many were looking for Chris Brown to join him as the two have collaborated on many occasions and very close, Usher reveals that he didn’t invite him while also clearing up feud rumors.
“No, I did not reach out to Chris Brown,” Usher said. “It’s all good, man. It’s always going to be something that you’re going to hear. Ain’t no issues between me and that man. We good.”

Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Lil Jon and Ludacris all joined Usher for the performance, which garnered 129.3 million viewers, making it the highest watch in Super Bowl history.
